Cardamom Tea : India’s popular tea called ‘Cardamom ‘Chai’. It’s a very healthy and aromatic drink . This rich pink tea is very soothing on wintery cold days.

 Vegetable Curry with Coconut Milk : It’s refreshing and spicy at the same time. The wonderful taste of coconut milk makes this dish unique. You and your family will be begging for more.

Cumin Rice : Cumin is one of the most recognized spices around the world.The flavor and taste of Cumin is a good companion to Basmati rice.It’s a great addition to a special meal.

Cream of Wheat Pudding : This is the most common sweet in Indian households. It is served quite  often in Indian homes.It can be made with wheat flour or Amaranth flour too. .

June 24th, 2025 Tuesday ...Hands On …...Gluten Free

Spice tea: India’s popular tea called ‘‘Chai’. It’s a very healthy and tasty drink .This rich pink tea is very soothing on wintery cold days.

Chili Paneer (tofu) : Bell peppers with Indian cheese or Tofu. Chili paneer is made with Indian cheese or tofu sauteed in onions, tomatoes and green chilies. This is a fantastic appetizer or can be served as a side dish.

Basmati Rice : Basmati Rice hails from the foothills of the Himalayas, India. Basmati is a long grain aromatic rice. It's Gluten free, low in fat and tastes great.

Cucumber raita :Raita is a soothing side dish that is somewhere between a sauce and a salad. This particular variety of raita uses cucumber, fresh yogurt and spices. Great for cooling the pallet down.

Sweet Lassi : Sweet Lassi is made with yogurt, sugar and water. The combination of these three ingredients produces a smooth , sweet taste.This is one my family’s favorites.

Green Vegetable with Cheese : Paneer Hariyali ; Paneer means Indian cheese and hariyali means green. All green vegetables with cheese . A healthy dish for a healthy family. 

Turmeric Rice : Aromatic light yellow color long grain Basmati rice is very popular in restaurants.  Easy to make and full of vitamins and minerals. 

Boondi Raita :  Boondis are tiny crunchy balls made with gram flour and salt. When added to yogurt and spices, they give an interesting texture. Yum...Yum.

Malai Kofta: Creamy Kofta Curry is most popular in the Northern parts of India. The Kofta or “dumplings” are made with Indian cheese and vegetables. It’s a smooth curry with a rich and creamy taste.

Moong dal with Spinach curry :Moong dal is a small yellow lentil without skin.It is very easy to cook  and one of the tastiest of all lentils.This curry goes very well with rice.

Basmati rice with Green peas and Carrots : Aromatic Basmati rice cooked with green peas and carrots is a very beautiful dish. The delicious taste of this dish will stay in your palette forever.

Date Rolls : Date rolls is a no sugar added dessert made with naturally sweet dates and nuts. This may be the only sweet you can enjoy without guilt.

Samosa: Vegetable stuffed pastry: Samosa is a large turnover of flaky crust stuffed with potato peas and spices. It's the most requested appetizer in restaurants.and homes. It can be served any time of the day.

Samosa Chutney: This marvelous chutney is a dip for any appetizer including Samosa. It’s versatile and is often served with any Indian meal to add some freshness to the palate. 

Chholay: Chickpeas curry or Garbanzo beans curry: This gravy type dish is very popular all around India.  Tastes great any time of day with Rice or bread. Traditionally eaten with Bhatura, an Indian specialty bread. In our class we will make a new dish called Samosa chaat. Samosa is a combination of Samosa, Chholay and chutney.

October 14th, 2024 Tuesday ...Hands On .....Gluten Free

Lassi: This yogurt drink is made with yogurt, salt and cold water. When yogurt is blended with salt and water, it’s transformed into a delicious drink. Serve this unique, cool drink to your guests.

Paneer: Indian cheese. We will make Indian cheese from milk. It’s very easy to make. This soft and very delicious cheese can be used in a lot of different curries and sweet dishes.

Paneer Masala: Paneer Masala is an upscale dish found only in fine restaurants. Everyone loves this dish. The golden color makes this dish alluring and the chunks of paneer cooked in creamy sauce enlivens your tastebuds. You will be begging for more.

Peas Pullao:  Aromatic Basmati Rice cooked with nuts, peas and spices. It will stay in your pallet forever.
